The Widetrack Chronicles 92: The new album is finished!!

Our new album is finished! To say we're relieved would be a major understatement...

From January 2021 to July 2023, we lived, ate and breathed these songs (as well as a few others that didn't make the cut)...

You could say we were setting a new bar for ourselves...

(Or maybe we're just gluttons for punishment... lol)

But seriously, this particular album was kind of a big deal...

During its creation, Zach:
*Graduated high school
*Started a new part-time job (in addition to his other weekend job of playing cover songs with his dad in The Vintage)
*Started college
*Started a different college
*etc.

All while writing, recording, re-writing and re-recording his parts for these songs (and even some of mine)...

Needless to say, he's enjoying a much-needed respite this month, vacationing with family and friends...

And so, while he's away recharging his batteries, I'm manning the fort and getting on with the next tasks at hand - which means uploading music, artwork, videos, promotional writings, etc., etc. to the digital world, in preparation for the album's official 9/15/23 release...

So much to do...

It is during this precise juncture that I have somewhat dropped the ball with our past albums...

Of course there's been a lot of posting and promoting; but never any real effective overall strategy to bring our music to a much wider audience...

I guess there are understandable reasons for this, being that Zach joined the band at the age of 12; still in school, still living his young life... there's been only so much we could do in terms of how hard we pushed with this...

Then, of course, there was the COVID shutdown, which coincided with the release of our last album, the first one that Zach had been a part of writing...

By the time all that was over, we'd begun writing this album...

And now here we are two and a half years later, at its completion...

It feels like the beginning of the next chapter...

What does this next chapter consist of?

I can't say, but:

We know we'd like to play this music for a lot more people...

We know we'd like to one day find two or three other soul-brothers and/or soul-sisters to round out the band's lineup for playing future shows...

We know we love playing/spending time together...

But where this is all leading, we'll just have to see...

So, in the meantime, we work on raising awareness for our band and its music...

Increasing connection...

Enjoying the journey...

Onward we go...

More to come...
