Widetrack Chronicles 102: What's next (and how you can help us get there)

The Widetrack Chronicles 102: What's next (and how you can help us get there)

(Ron here): As the year starts winding down, I’ve been thinking a lot about how far this journey has come, and how it keeps unfolding in ways that still surprise me.

Zach headed back to Berklee at the beginning of September, and it’s hard to believe we’re already in mid-November.

He’ll be home again for about a month in December before heading back to Boston until May, when he’ll return for spring and summer.

Every time he’s home, the energy comes rushing back - new songs, shows, long talks about music and life, ideas flying... Those moments mean everything.

But when he leaves again, the quiet that follows carries a different kind of weight now... A little sad, yes… but with a reassuring sense of peace in knowing he’s on the right path.

Because what he’s doing out there has been such a joy to watch. Zach’s absolutely thriving at Berklee, performing and recording with a range of artists while learning every day in ways that keep expanding his musical voice.

Every time I see him play now, I’m just blown away... His musicianship, his feel, his confidence - it’s all grown into something truly special.

I couldn’t be prouder.

I miss him, of course, but more than that, I’m just so excited for his future.

Ever since we started playing together when he was 12, I’ve seen it as a privilege to share this with him.

I’ve always wanted him to have the space to explore everything else that calls to him, and so whenever we do get to make music together, it feels like a gift.

That approach has benefited us throughout the years, pushing each of our musical paths forward and continuing to challenge and inspire us while keeping our excitement alive for what’s ahead.

Giving each other that space has made our time together even stronger; every new season brings something different to the table.

It’s allowed each of us to bring fresh energy and perspective every time we reconnect, keeping the spark alive and the work evolving right alongside us.

Each time we come back together, there’s something new in the mix - new ideas, new sounds, new ways of seeing what our music can become.

Widetrack has always lived in this rhythm - the back-and-forth between presence and distance, creation and reflection, the stillness that fuels the next spark.

It’s never been a straight line. It’s more like a heartbeat: steady, alive, always moving.
So what’s next?

As we head into 2026, our focus is on releasing a series of new singles - both new Widetrack originals and reimagined covers, continuing in the spirit of our take on Pink Floyd’s Welcome to the Machine.

There’s something powerful about revisiting the music that shaped us - running those familiar sounds through our own filter without losing the heartbeat that first inspired us.

That’s what being an artist feels like to us: not imitation, not nostalgia, but a real conversation across generations of sound.

And when Zach comes home in May, we’re really looking forward to getting back out and playing shows again.

Performing live is its own kind of magic - something raw and human happens in that space between us and the audience that no studio can ever capture.

When people really feel these songs, the connection runs both ways... It reminds us why we do this at all - not just to create, but to share something real.

Still, our goal isn’t only to make music - it’s to connect...

That’s where you come in...

Beyond anything financial, the most meaningful way to help keep this music alive is by sharing it.

If a Widetrack song has ever hit you - made you feel seen, given you chills, or brought you a sense of belonging - we’d love it if you’d pass it on.

Mention us on your socials, add a track to a playlist, leave a comment when you see one of our posts or reels.
Those small gestures ripple farther than you might think.

Every share, every tag, every word-of-mouth mention helps these songs reach new hearts.
And for that, we’re truly grateful.

We don’t dream of stadiums or platinum records... We dream of a community - curious, loyal, passionate - built around music that can’t be mass-produced... Music that dares to be itself.

That’s what keeps us going when the road feels long and the hours grow quiet.

So as Zach keeps honing his craft at Berklee, and as the next phase of Widetrack comes into focus, know this: the story’s still being written.

And you’re a part of it.

Onward.

-Widetrack (Ron and Zach)
